[Watch] Farmers & Hawkers Dump Vegetables On Road In Odisha Town

Jharsuguda: Due to the closure of the weekly market here because of the surge in COVID-19 cases, farmers and hawkers were barred from selling vegetables on Tuesday.

Following this, the farmers and hawkers erupted in protest by dumping vegetables on the street near the bus stand in Jharsuguda town.

They alleged that they were facing financial losses because the administration has not arranged for alternate places for them to sell their vegetables.

Notably, the Jharsuguda Collector, Saroj Kumar Samal, had ordered the closure of weekly markets across the district to check the spread of the pandemic. The order was implemented on April 2 and will remain in force for three weeks.
