Mumbai: Film producer Kamal Kishor Mishra has been accused of trying to kill his wife by ramming his car into her. A disturbing CCTV video of the incident, which took place parking lot of an apartment building in West Andheri, Mumbai, on October 19 after his wife apparently discovered him with another woman, has gone viral.
It shows a woman accosting the driver of a white car, which accelerates even as she falls down with her legs caught under the front wheels of the vehicle. Some people can be seen coming to her aid and extricating her from under the car even as the driver drives away.
The filmmaker was reported with the other woman in the car when his wife came to the spot looking for him. An altercation broke out as the wife went to confront him. Mishra then drove the car hitting his wife, Hindustan Times quoted police as saying.
A case has been registered against Mishra under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), at the Amboli police station, PTI reported.
Several news reports quoted Amboli police saying that the victim suffered injuries to her head, legs, and hands. A hunt is underway to nab the accused.
Mishra is the producer of films like ‘Dehati Disco’, ‘Bhootiyapa’, and ‘Sharmaji Ki Lag Gai’.
