Baripada: A 60-year-old man was rescued by fire services personnel from a dry abandoned well on Sunday, more than 16 hours after he fell into.
The man has been identified as Ramachandra Das of Kenjhara village under Yashipur police limits in Mayurbhanj district.
Das of Saharpada in Kenjhara village into an abandoned well in the cashew forest while he was on his way to his relative’s house on Saturday afternoon. Some women heard some frail voices for help coming from a well and found the old man inside it. They alerted the fire department who reached the spot and rescued the old man, who was extremely scared and hungry.
Das, sustained injuries on his chest and legs, was immediately rushed to a hospital, where his condition is stated to be stable.
