Mumbai: Alia Bhatt came in for high praise from netizens, including her fellow-artistes, after the makers of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ unveiled the film’s trailer on Friday.
Following COVID-induced delays, the much-awaited movie is scheduled to release in theatres on February 25.
The makers of Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi have unveiled the trailer of the much-awaited film on Friday (February 4). As expected, the trailer of the much-awaited flick managed to create anticipation among the audience.
The Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film will depicts the story of how Ganga — forced into sex trade at a young age – goes on to emerge as the matriarch of Mumbai’s red-light area Kamathipura.
Alia shared the trailer on her Instagram handle and wrote, “GANGUBAI ZINDABAD. Trailer out now.”

Among those who reacted positively on social media were Anushka Sharma, Janhvi Kapoor and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Calling Alia a ‘firecracker’, Anushka shared the trailer on Instagram and wrote: “What a firecracker of a trailer and actor Alia Bhatt.”
Janhvi described Alia as a ‘force of nature.’
“Please I can’t keep calm. This is beyond insane. I can’t wait. Alia Bhatt you are a force of nature,” the late Sridevi’s daughter posted.
Karan Johar also said he couldn’t wait to watch the film.
“Phenomenal! In every way!!!! The power of a solid actor and a supreme story teller is always unmatchable! Can’t wait to see the film,” he tweeted.
The film also features Ajay Devgn, Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz and Indira Tiwari.
