New Delhi: A middle-aged woman, who allegedly asked men at a restaurant to rape some young women because one of them was wearing a short skirt, was accosted by them in a video that has gone viral.
After the woman allegedly asked men to rape them, the girl and her friends led her to a shopping centre in the same mall where they insisted that she apologise.
“This middle-aged woman you’ll see in the video addressed seven men at the restaurant to rape us because she felt we deserved it for wearing short clothes… Our instinct was to turn away from the drama but supported by our colleagues, we took her on at a shopping centre, nearby. We gave her the chance to apologise, to no avail, of course. Nothing moved the needle for her, not even another woman who learned the story on the spot and implored her to apologise,” claimed Shivani Gupta on Facebook, along with a nine-minute plus video of the confrontation.
In the video, the women can be seen following and surrounding her inside a home furnishing store. The middle-aged woman, whose details are not known, tries to walk away, refusing to apologise. She also refuses to talk to the young women, while asking store staff to call the police.
“Apologise right now. I will make your life a living hell if you don’t apologise, I promise you that. I will make you viral,” one of them can be heard telling the woman in the video.
As the friends follow the women around the store with their cameras, another woman joins them to take on the middle-aged woman.
After about eight minutes, the woman finally opens her mouth to say: “Hello guys, these ladies want to wear short to short dress to encourage all to see them. Theek hai? Wow, very good. All the ladies wear the shorter dress or naked to (be) raped. Hi all, if you are the parents, please control the girls (sic),” she declares, looking into the cellphone camera.
The younger women were then heard mocking the older woman’s accent and pronunciation.
The women kept saying they have CCTV footage of the restaurant incident and that they will approach the police, but Gurgaon Police is yet to receive any complaint.
