Jaya Bachchan lost her temper yet again during a roadshow at Howrah on Thursday. Interestingly, the video went viral on her birthday today.
The video shows the veteran actress pushing and shoving a fan trying to take a selfie away from the vehicles she was seated in. The actor-turned-politician has been in West Bengal for the last couple of days campaigning for the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC).
The ‘Guddi’ actress is known for her mercurial temper and is known not to tolerate bad etiquette. She doesn’t shy away from reprimanding people and it is mostly media persons who have been at the receiving end.
Here are some incidents:
In December 2020, Jaya had gone shopping with her grandson Agastya Nanda. Sure enough, cameramen tried to take pictures. Giving a disgusted expression from behind her mask, Mrs B said, “Sharam aani chahiye” (you should be ashamed).
In 2017, she caught a fan clicking selfies while she was on her way out after Ganpati darshan. An angry Jaya snapped, “Don’t do that, stupid!”
In the same year, priest at Esha Deol’s ‘godh bharai’ ceremony didn’t know what hit him when she scolded him saying “Aap puja mein dhyan dijiye.” It seems someone from Panditji’s team was busy clicking a selfie.
Another time, she curtly asked students at a college festival to “Put your mobile down,” objecting to the flash blinding her. “These are basic manners which we Indians have to learn. Just because you have a camera and a mobile, you get the freedom to take anyone’s picture anytime, without asking that person! These are basic educations that all colleges and schools and parents at home should teach their children,” she added.
Before that in 2014, Jaya did not take kindly to a question she was asked at the launch of her sister-in-law Ramola Bachchan’s store. Giving the reporter a piece of her mind for asking an unrelated question, she said, “Aap bataiye, yeh jagah hai yeh sawaal poochne ka? Don’t act smart with me,” she said, before leaving the place.
