Nabarangpur: A police officer in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district beat up a group of journalists who had gathered at the Papadahandi police station to collect news.
A video of the incident has gone viral. It’s unclear when the incident took place. The police officer, identified in the video as the Additional SP of Papadahandi, is seen thrashing the journalists with a lathi despite protests that they are from the media.
The Odisha Union of Journalists Association has demanded a high-level investigation into the incident and strong action against the police officer.
