Bhubaneswar: While fans of Shahrukh Khan celebrated the release of his much-awaited movie ‘Pathaan’ in Odisha capital on Wednesday, activists of Kalinga Sena marched through the streets protesting against, what they claim ‘nudity’ in the spy thriller.
It was a four-year-long wait for the Bollywood superstar and they celebrated it by cutting cakes in front of Maharaja and other halls in Odisha capital this morning as all first shows were houseful. “We all are very excited for Pathaan irrespective of all the protests and allegations. It has registered the highest-grossing opening and we will make sure that the movie breaks all records at the box office as well,” a member of the fan club told the media.
The Keshari Hall, on the other hand, saw activists of Kalinga Sena tearing off the posters while claiming that the songs and dances in the movie crossed the boundary of obscenity and said that it may put a wrong impact on children. “We strongly oppose the scenes and dance in this Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer. The scenes where Shahrukh touched Deepika inappropriately will never be accepted. The censor board and government should not allow such movies as these can lead to a rise in rape and murder cases,” a protestor told the media.
He added that those who are watching the movie cannot take their kids and family along with them to the halls. “The fan clubs have invested lakhs of rupees for the promotions and the PR team is falsely claiming that the movie is housefull,” he added.
A platoon of police force has also been deployed outside the hall to prevent any untoward incident.
