Watch Keonjhar Landscape Turn Snowwhite

Keonjhar: Keonjhar and its adjoining areas were draped in white with hailstones covering vast stretches on Monday. The hailstorm also brought much sought-after relief from the sweltering heat.

According to sources, heavy rain accompanied by hailstones lashed Keonjhar town on Monday afternoon. The hailstones carpeted long stretches of the black-topped roads in the town as it continued to rain for more than half an hour.

“It felt just like snowfall. I had never seen hailstorm of this intensity before. A blanket of white spread across the entire region,” said a local resident.

Such hailstone rain was earlier reported from Pipilia of Ghatagaon block of the district. “For sometime, we were transported to Darjeeling or Kashmir. It was a memorable day,” said a native of the town.
