Watch: LED Speed Breakers In Hyderabad

The Hyderabad traffic police have come up with an innovative solution to make sure motorists do not jump traffic signals. They have installed a speed breaker with embedded LED lights that turn red, yellow or green according to the signal at that junction.

The LED lights, currently installed at KBR Park junction on an experimental basis, are waterproof and will help motorists see the signal from a distance. Drivers often complain that traffic signal lights are not visible due to large vehicles in front of them.

As these lights are spread across the road, it would be difficult to miss them, police sources said.

Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar tweeted the following video:

The city is planning to install more such speed breakers in future.
