Lahore: The statue of the 17th-century Sikh ruler from Lahore, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, was allegedly vandalised by a TLP Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan worker on the Lahore Fort Complex.
A video showing the statue being pulled down by a worker has gone viral.
Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Ch Fawad Hussain tweeted the video and wrote, “Shameful this bunch of illiterates are really dangerous for Pakistan image in the world”.
The man was later arrested and sent to police custody for further interrogation and investigation, the Hindustan Times reported.
The same statute was reportedly broken three times prior to the current incident.
