Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was discharged from SSKM Hospital here on Thursday evening after undergoing treatment to her injured knee.
The Trinamool Congress supremo had sustained ligament injury on her left knee and also hip joint last week when her helicopter made an emergency landing at Sevoke Airbase, near Siliguri, due to inclement weather.
She had been undergoing physiotherapy at home with doctors advising her rest and restricted movement.
“There is a swelling in her left knee joint which might be due to excess fluid collection in or around that area,” a senior doctor who was part of the team treating her had told PTI.
With her pain persisting, she went to the hospital this afternoon and was admitted to a VVIP cabin in the Woodburn block of SSKM hospital.
Following a CT scan of her left knee, doctors performed a procedure to ease the swelling and pain.
