[Watch] Narrow Escape For Tourists As Rhino Almost Overturns Safari Jeep With Its Horn

Rhino attacks safari jeep

Guwahati: A group of tourists got the scare of their lives at Assam’s Manas National Park.

Out on a jeep safari at the national park, one of the most-visited wildlife destinations, the tourists’ jeep was attacked by an angry rhinoceros.

A video of the heart-stopping incident, which unfolded at the Bansbari range, shows the one-horned rhino approaching the stationary safari jeep, and suddenly ramming it forcefully with its horn. After shaking up the vehicle and dismantling a body part by attacking the front right wheel, the rhino stares at the tourists before targeting the rear whe

el.

This time, the rhino puts all its might into the horn attack, and violently lifts and moves the jeep quite a distance, even as vehicles around it honk loudly to try and scare the animal away.

The tourists, who were initially happy to see the rhino emerge from the forest, were left panic-stricken and shaken as the animal turned violent, obviously feeling disturbed in its habitat.

Thankfully for the tourists, the driver managed to steer the jeep away before the rhino could cause further damage. Everyone escaped unharmed, with no report of any serious injury. The impact was more in the mind.

The latest human versus animal episode incident has revived attention on this crucial issue, especially because a similar encounter had taken place in the Salbari range of the Manas National park last year. Even then, a rhinoceros had charged at a safari jeep carrying tourists but luckily the locals scared away the animal.
