Oregon: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra qualified for the men’s javelin throw final at the World Athletics Championships being held in Eugene, Oregon, with an impressive 88.39-m throw, his third best so far.
Chopra qualified for the final with his first throw. The final will be held on Sunday.
The automatic qualifying mark in javelin throw for the World Championships final was 83.50 m.
At the Diamond League in Stockholm last month, Chopra won silver with a throw of 89.94 m, just 6 cm short of the 90-m mark, the gold standard in javelin throw.
