The sprawling seaside mansion of fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, accused in the $2 billion PNB fraud case, was demolished Friday using explosives, Raigad District Collector Vijay Suryawanshi said. He told news agency PTI that it was controlled blasting.
More than 100 explosives were used in the blast.
According to some estimates, the bungalow was valued at Rs 100 crores.
On February 1, the Maharashtra Government told Bombay High Court that the authorities will require two weeks to bring down the structure.
