[Watch] Now, Sonu Nigam Steps Into Ajay Devgn-Kiccha Sudeep Hindi Row

Bhubaneswar: After Kangana Ranaut, Ram Gopal Verma and Hanshal Mehta, Sonu Nigam has now joined the row between Ajay Devgn and Kiccha Sudeep on Hindi.

Abhi tumhaare baaki deshon se pange kam hain jo tum apne desh mein kar rahe ho? (Aren’t we facing enough issues with other countries? Why create an issue within the country?)” the singer, who has lent his voice in more than 32 languages, said at a recent event, to a question by journalist Sushant Mehta.

“As far as I know, it is nowhere written in our Constitution that Hindi is our national language. Having said that, do we know Tamil is the oldest language of India and there is a debate between Tamil and Sanskrit on this,” he said.

The singer also pointed out that English has become part of our culture now. “Punjabis can speak in Punjabi, Tamilians can talk in Tamil and if they are comfortable they can talk in English. All our court judgments are given in English, what is this ‘humein Hindi bolna chahiye’”.
