Bhubaneswar; Several students from Odisha have thanked state government and chief minister Naveen Patnaik for helping them return safely from war-hit Ukraine to India.
On their departure from different places of Ukraine, the students expressed their gratitude in social media on the day. Jyoti Prakash Behera, a first year student of Kharkiv National Medical University said, ” My heartfelt thanks to our CM Naveen Patnaik Sir from me and my fellow friends for evacuating Odisha students from Kharkiv by a special bus in this critical war situation. We are very thankful to CM for taking a bold step by evacuating us.”
Another student from the same university, Ritu Parna Rout, said, “I was stuck in this war situation and was desperately waiting for the evacuation. But nobody helped us, not even External Ministry or the Embassy. But our chief minister Naveen Patnaik Sir helped us and provided the bus bearing all the expenses. We are thankful to you for helping us so much.”
“I am grateful to Odisha government and especially CM Naveen Patnaik, Ravikanth sir, the resident commissioner of Odisha who monitored and helped us in such a time of crisis. They even arranged proper food and stay for us,” wrote Aakanksha Mallick, a student of Kharkiv University.

The students were brought in two buses from their university to Lviv from where they would board special flight to India.
