Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday reacted sharply to BJP’s continuous tirade on his health and claims that his videos are being manipulated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
“There is a limit to the amount of lies BJP can tell. As you can see I am in very good health and I have been campaigning for around a month all over the state,” Naveen told ANI.
This came even as the state BJP appealed to Odisha DGP to ‘free Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik from the clutches of V K Pandian’. “The Chief Minister is being held hostage by his former personal secretary V K Pandian and some other non-Odia officials for some days. It is evident from the videos posted on various social media platforms of the BJD. We doubt whether the Chief Secretary and you (DGP) are able to hold discussions with him as per the protocol,” former BJP state president Samir Das wrote in the letter to the DGP.
“People of Odisha have the rights to know about the condition of the Chief Minister,” he added.
Senior BJD leader V K Pandian added that the BJP should come with innovative ideas instead of talking about something which is non-existent. “You are all watching the CM. It is very unfortunate, below the belt. People of Odisha will not appreciate this kind of demeaning of chief minister who enjoys such popularity in the state. They should come up with something innovative. This is so substandard,” he added.
The CM had so far responded to these allegations in a dismissive manner. He had earlier wittily told BJP to use ‘their intelligence’ in a video massage after the BJP raised concern on his physical and mental condition saying the videos released during the election campaign carrying his messages appeared to be AI-generated deepfakes.
