Bhubaneswar: In a significant departure from his normal new year routine, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik prayed and sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath at his residence, Naveen Niwas, here on Saturday.
Naveen usually visits Jagannath Temple in Puri on January 1 every year and pays obeisance to the sibling deities of the pilgrim town.
However, in view of COVID restrictions and the 12th century shrine being closed to avoid crowding, Naveen chose to start 2022 by doing ‘darshan’ of Lord Jagannath at his residence.
