Bhubaneswar: After an interaction with the Indian men’s hockey team that created history by winning the bronze at Tokyo Olympics, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday spoke to the families of the two players from Odisha – Amit Rohidas and Birendra Lakra.
Amit’s brother Niranjan Rohidas expressed joy over the team winning a medal after 41 years. He thanked the CM for supporting the hockey team.
“Your brother played very well. I am very happy with the team’s performance,” Naveen said.
Birendra’s mother Mary Lakra mother said she was happy with the achievement of the team.

Earlier speaking to the team, Naveen had said that Odisha was looking forward to receiving the Indian Olympic hockey team in Bhubaneswar on August 16.
