Sonepur: People have in the past boiled eggs under the sun to show how hot it is outside. A woman in Odisha’s Sonepur went a step further. With the state reeling under severe heatwave conditions, she showed people that she could make rotis on the bonnet of a car, which under the scorching sun had become as hot as a frying pan on a gas stove.
Nila Madhab Panda, national award-winning filmmaker from Odisha, shared the video on Twitter and wrote, “Scenes from my town Sonepur. It’s so hot that one can make roti on the car Bonnet.”
Sonepur recorded a maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
