Koraput: School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Monday said 17 government high schools in Koraput will witness a complete overhaul of infrastructure under the high school transformation project of the 5T initiative.
While touring the district, the Minister attended a class with students at Koraput Government Girls High School. He also shared tips on learning. “Never hesitate to ask questions and get your doubts cleared by your teachers,” he told the students.
Dash said that more than 1,000 government schools in the state will be transformed with modern facilities like smart classrooms, e-library cum reading rooms, modern science laboratory, hygienic toilets, safe drinking water and sports infrastructures in the first phase, by November 14.
The remaining 6600 schools, will be transformed into aspirational schools in a phased manner in the next couple of years, he added.
“The state government’s main focus is smart education. In this transformation, the main responsibility will be on teachers and so by the end of this year, we will be recruiting approximately 16,000 teachers”, he added.
Koraput MLA Raghu Ram Padal, District Education Officer Ramachandra Nahak, Block Education Officer Shrikant Jani, and Headmaster in-charge Durga Prasad Rath were present.
