Berhampur: Police on Friday arrested five persons in connection with an incident in which a youth was brutally assaulted by four others in full public glare after a parking brawl at Panda Colony here.

Those arrested are Raja Mishra, the victim, and the attackers – Sunil Maharana and his friends Asish Maharana, Pintu Behera and Kalia Sahu.

The CCTV footage of the incident, which took place on January 28, has gone viral on social media.

In the video, one of the four attackers can be seen hitting Raja with a cricket bat. When his mother tried to intervene, they attacked her with sword. Both mother and son were critically injured in the incident.

According to sources, Raja had earlier reprimanded Sunil for parking his vehicle in front of his house when the latter was there to attend a wedding ceremony. Sunil and his friend later came back to settle a score with Raja, leading to the incident.
