Bhubaneswar: The 46-second teaser of ‘Jai Hind, Jai India’, the official song for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018, was released on Sunday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also tweeted about the teaser release and thanked the man behind the video, A R Rahman, for the anthem.
A tribute to Indian Hockey, this song intends to inspire the young generation to take the first step towards world domination in sports and leadership. The video celebrates how united our nation is, adapting modernism, yet preserving our ancient values, embracing humanity fueled by spiritual commonality, mentions the YouTube post by the Oscar-winning music maestro.
The message ‘purpose is loftier than victory or defeat’ has been beautifully penned by celebrated writer-lyricist Gulzar.
The video features Rahman, Shahrukh Khan, Nayanthara, Sivamani, Neeti Mohan, Shweta Mohan, Sasha Tirupathi, Shweta Pandit, Harshdeep and prominent hockey players of India.
Rahman had announced about the teaser launch on his official Twitter handle a couple of days ago.
He will perform live along with SRK at the grand opening ceremony of the World Cup at Kalinga Stadium here on November 27 and again at Barabati Stadium the following day. The online sale of tickets for the events will start on November 20.
Top 16 teams of the world will compete at the quadrennial event in the Odisha capital from November 28 to December 16.
