Bhadrak: Heavy rain triggered by the very severe cyclonic storm Yaas, submerged several areas in Bhadrak district.
The heavy rain resulted in flash flood in Baitarani. The flood water entered many villages under Dhamnagar and Bhandaripokhari blocks in the district.
The river is flowing above danger level near Akhuapada. The connecting road from Bhandaripokhari to Jajpur town has been disconnected with water flowing at 5 feet on Sarata bridge near Malada in Bhandaripokhari.
The district administration has deployed two ODRAF teams in Dhamnagar block and one ODRAF team in Bhandaripokhari for rescue operation.
District Collector Gyana Ranjan Das said he also visited the flood -affected areas in Bhandaripokhari and Dhamnagar blocks.
