[Watch] Pilot Makes Emergency Landing On Highway

Fontana (US): An American pilot scripted a miraculous escape from a major accident when he managed to make an emergency landing on the highway amid vehicular traffic.

The incident happened in North Carolina, an American state, last week.

Vincent Fraser was flying a single-engine aircraft from Fontana Lake, with his father-in-law being the fellow passenger. The engine suddenly started to malfunction. Fraser had to steer the aircraft to safety, and had no option but to try landing on the highway.

A video clip, filmed on the pilot’s GoPro camera from the cockpit, is doing the rounds on social media showing the emergency landing on the highway.

The footage was shared by Swain County Sheriff’s office on Facebook, praising the pilot.

“Outstanding job and no injuries,” wrote Sheriff Curtis Cochran.

He said the pilot barely avoided some of the power lines.

“There were so many things that could have been catastrophic but they didn’t happen,” the sheriff wrote.
