[Watch] Piyush Goyal Breaks Down On Air While Recollecting Breakfast With Ratan Tata

New Delhi: As the entire nation is mourning the demise of Ratan Tata, Union Minister Piyush Goyal couldn’t hold tears rolling down his cheeks while recollecting the time he had spent with the business tycoon. He broke down in tears while being on air.
In an interview to an English news channel—during which he broke down—the minister said: “Every moment spent with him (Ratan Tata) is a fond memory.”

He remembered having breakfast with Ratan Tata. “Once he came home to have breakfast a couple of years ago and he had a simple idli dosa vada sambar served for breakfast so he was so profuse in his happiness, in his thanks. Just before he was leaving, he asked my wife would you like to have a picture with me, and obviously everybody wanted a picture with him, it was such a cherished moment,” the minister told India Today.

“…The small and thoughtful gestures which make the man the Ratan Tata – 140 crore Indian love and the world loves,” he told the ANI. The minister said Ratan Tata was a very sensitive person.

“…When the country was facing the Covid pandemic, Ratan Tata pledged Rs 1500 crore, without any hesitation and any condition… This helped us strengthen our hands to fight the battle against Covid,” the minister added.

After suffering from age-related ailments, Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday at a Mumbai hospital.
