Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday interacted with a beneficiary, Suchsmita Kabata from Mayurbhanj district, while reviewing implementation of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
Through a video conferencing programme, organised by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at its office in Odisha capital, Suchsmita spoke to the Prime Minister.
She got the LPG connection under the Yojana on May 2, 2018. She shared her experience with the PM on how PMUY transformed her life.
“Now, I can cook faster and spend more time with my children and family. During monsoon also I can cook for my children,” said Suchsmita. During the rainy season, water would earlier enter into the chullah, she added.
“Now I can also prepare instant food by boiling water for my children,” Suchsmita said.
Modi advised Suchsmita to give healthy and veggie food to her children.
The Prime Minister also advised her not to involve any middleman and give bribe for the LPG connection. He asked her to write to him, if she faces such problem.
Among others, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was present.
