New Delhi: India’s Thomas Cup-winning heroes were thrilled to get a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after their historic triumph in Thailand on Sunday.
Modi, who first took to Twitter to congratulate the team for winning the premier badminton team title for the first time, later maintained his tradition of calling players who achieve major victories for India.
“A special interaction with our badminton champions, who have won the Thomas Cup and made 135 crore Indians proud,” Modi wrote along with the video of his chat with the team.
The PM started by interacting with senior player Kidambi Srinath, and made it a point to speak with the others – Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty – as well.
