Puri: A youth, waiting at a COVID testing centre in the town, was allegedly scolded and assaulted by a police official for pointing out violation of social distancing on Saturday.
According to sources, the youth was waiting in a queue for COVID-19 test at Kalyan Mandap in Mochi Sahi. He noticed that some people were were not maintaining social distance and breaking the queue to get tested early.
He informed about this to a lady police official present there. Instead of taking any remedial step, the police official scolded in foul language and assaulted him. Later, she sent him to the police station.
The youth, who had recorded violation of social distancing by the people on his mobile phone, has released the video with his own views on the matter.
