Dhenkanal: Police on Saturday conducted a raid on the secret cellar in the house of fake doctor Ramesh Swain at Kamakshyanagar in Dhenkanal.
A special team of the Women wing of Commissionerate police and Special Squad seized documents during the raid. But they did not reveal the details as the investigation was still on.
However, police sources said, the team was trying to ascertain why the fake doctor had built the underground chamber and what was its use.
The police team also grilled the caretaker of the house, Nrusingha Rout about Swain and the secret cellar.

It may be noted that police have registered 13 cheating cases against Swain of Kendrapada district for impersonating as a doctor and cheating women, job seekers, MBBS aspirants and businessmen for money.
The cases against Swain include five in Mahila police station, three in Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar, two each in Cuttack’s Bharatpur and Mangalabag and one in Patkura of Kendrapada.
Swain had reportedly married 18 women for financial gains. He was arrested on February 14, while his sister was arrested on Wednesday.
The police have also formed a pink team, comprising women from different areas of expertise to investigate into the frauds amounting to around Rs 1.5 crore committed by Swain. The team mostly comprises senior woman officers, chartered account, legal advisors and other financial experts.
