New Delhi: Axis My India Chairman and Managing Director Pradeep Gupta broke down on live television on Tuesday after his poll predictions fell way of the mark from actual outcome of Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Gupta broke down in the presence of journalists Rajdeep Sardesai and Rahul Kanwal during an analysis on India Today’s live coverage of election results.
Both Sardesai and Kanwal tried to console Gupta by saying that exit poll figures may go wrong, but he seemed overwhelmed with emotion.
Consumer data intelligence company Axis My India had forecast that the NDA would win between 360 and 400 seats in Lok Sabha, with BJP alone getting 322 to 340.
Till 6 pm, BJP had won 58 seats and was leading in 183 seats. On the other hand, NDA was ahead in 294 seats, vis-a-vis Opposition INDIA bloc’s 231.
