Puri: The entire Puri town has been put under security net for the two-day visit of President Ramnath Kovind on Saturday.
Top police officials including IG (central range) Narsingh Bhol, Additional DIG Radhakrishna Sharma and Puri SP K Vishal Singh on Friday supervised the security arrangements in the town for the President’s visit.
They inspected the root chart of the President’s carcade from the helipad at Talabania to all the places in the town where he will visit during his stay.
They inspected the security at Saradhabali, helipad and Raj Bhavan besides the air and sea routes to the town. A final rehearsal of the carcade was also carried out in presence of top police officers.

The IG attended a mock drill of security forces from Goudia Mutt to Saradhabali and made a minute check of deployment of security personnel at strategic points of the town.
Since Kovind will attend a function at Goudia Mutt, the district collector Samarth Verma verified the security arrangements there with the mutt officials and police officers.
