Sonepur: PVC pipes worth crores of rupees, which were stocked in a roadside yard near Langalakanta village in Odisha’s Sonepur district, were gutted in a massive fire on Sunday morning. The fire is still raging with several firefighters battling to put out the blaze at the spot.
The pipes, belonging to Zuberi Engineering, were meant for a mega water project.
Thick smoke has filled the area, preventing motorists from using the road.
It is suspected that burning of hay left in crop fields after harvest by farmers of Langalakata village started the fire.
Fire service personnel from Dungurpali and Rampur have rushed to the spot to control the massive blaze.
