[Watch] Quintuple Murder In Odisha: Crime Scene Recreated With Prime Accused Siba Sahu

Bhubaneswar: Siba Sahu, the prime accused in the quintuple murder in Odisha’s Cuttack district, was taken to the crime spot at Kusupur on Friday.

The crime scene recreation was conducted amid tight security in presence of the IIC of Mahanga police station, Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, and Salepur SDPO Bimal Barik and the murder weapon was seized during the process, sources said.

A long-drawn battle over a patch of land had reportedly led to the ghastly murder of Alekha Sahu and his family of four around 3 am on Tuesday. Siba later recorded a video, confessing to having hacked to death five of his elder brother’s family, and surrendered at Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district.

Following his arrest, police took him on a three-day remand on Thursday. However, Siba could not be interrogated properly on the first day as he fell sick and was later admitted to a hospital.

According to preliminary investigation, the accused had cut the wrist veins of the victims and they died due to profuse bleeding while asleep. It is also being suspected that he might have spiked their food.

The viscera report would reveal if the accused had intoxicated the five family members before killing them, police said.

Police sources had further said that Siba had chopped the body of Alekh and Rashmi using a katuri (sharp weapon).
