New Delhi: Passengers dread getting the side lower berths while booking their reservation on any long-distance train in India. The uneven gap in the middle when the seats are closed to form a bed often caused them backache.
But those painful days are a thing of the past.
Henceforth, there will be no complaints as Indian Railways has introduced an innovative design which eliminates the uncomfortable feeling.
Union minister for Railways Piyush Goyal shared a video recently on social media where an official is seen demonstrating how the new seat works.
An extra folding of a full-sized bed or bench has been introduced, which has no gap in it. Once the passenger wants to lie down, he has to pull it up from under the window and place it on top of the uneven seats.
