Puri: Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das visited Jagannath temple in Odisha’s Puri on Monday. He was accompanied by his wife.
The RBI governor said that he is visiting the Srimandir almost after six years. “I feel fortunate to have had darshan of the sibling deities,” he said.
He said that the country had to go through a rough phase due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We are hopeful of overcoming this period soon with the blessing of the Lords,” he added.
Das’ tenure as RBI governor was extended by three years this October.

The former economic affairs secretary was the first Odia to be appointed as RBI governor. He took charge in 2018.
An alumnus of DM School in Bhubaneswar, he did his Masters from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi.
