Puri: All small-town success stories have their roots in big dreams. So is the story of Puri’s Sangram Keshari Barik. Once struggling as a fledgling dancer, he is now showing off his dance moves in Mumbai as a Bollywood choreographer.
Gifted with amazing dancing skills, Sangram, a resident of Puri’s Baghelakhada Lane already has a huge fan following. Lakhs of people have watched his dance in Sare Gama Pa Music video. In Mumbai, he got a chance to work with top Bollywood choreographer Prince Gupta and will be presenting a performance at a dance programme ‘Mera Juta Hai Bharsake’ from Gupta’s production stable.
“Back in 2010, I had little scope for starting my dance institution. Finally, two other people, one of them, Puspa Patra, helped me in fulfilling my dream of starting a dance studio in Puri in 2015,” said Sangram.
The other person, Chanchal Patra, helped me a lot in Mumbai, he said.
“I came in contact with Sangram during an event in 2018. We both got connected because of dancing, a common passion. Sangram came to Mumbai in 2019 and we wanted to get into Bollywood. We started dance and fitness classes together. Sangram is hard-working and can adapt to any dance style,” said Chanchal.
Sangram has also performed at various dance programmes in Odisha and award ceremonies.
