Ahmedabad: Ahead of the crucial fourth and final Test against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera here, Team India players celebrated Holi with great gusto.
The cricketers and support staff indulged in fun-filled celebrations with colourful gulal.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video which showed the team members enjoying themselves in the hotel and also on the team bus.
Rohit Sharma took charge off the field too, being the most enthusiastic and not sparing anyone in applying colours – even the ones who were a tad reluctant like Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.
The cricketers, some of them almost unrecognisable with their faces covered in multiple colours, are seen rushing to the team bus after a round of gulal smattering in the hotel.
Rohit He first applied colour on Kohli while asking Jadeja to join him saying
“Laga laga Virat ko laga (put colour on Virat),” Rohit urges teammates.

Holi was celebrated in Gujarat on Tuesday, while the festival of colours is being celebrated in northern parts of the country on Wednesday.
The players will have to quickly switch back to cricketing mode as India were outplayed by Australia in the third Test after winning the first two games of the series.
India will qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final if they win the series 3-1. In case the series ends 2-2 or 2-1 in favour of India, Rohit’s men will have to hope that Sri Lanka don’t beat New Zealand 2-0 in an upcoming series.
Australia have already qualified for the WTC final, which will be played from June 7-11 at the Oval in London.
