Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for the “impressive” transformation he has brought about in his image. At the India Today Conclave, Khan was asked what kind of politician he likes. He replied that he likes “brave” and “honest” politicians. Then, he was asked among Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi who could be entrusted to take India into the future.
He replied, “I think they are all brave politicians. I think what Rahul Gandhi has done has been very impressive. There was a point when people were disrespecting things he was saying and doing. And I think he has turned that around by working very hard in a very interesting way.”
Saif’s latest film Devara Part 1, with which he has made a debut in the Telugu film industry, is releasing on Friday in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif in lead roles.
Saif’s praise for Rahul Gandhi set the internet buzzing with comments. While many applauded the actor for praising Gandhi, others drew parallels between Khan and Gandhi, noting their similarly illustrious backgrounds.
“Salman Khan, a self-made superstar, supports Modi, while Saif Ali Khan, a product of nepotism, backs Rahul Gandhi. Interesting how their choices reflect their journeys!” an X user commented.
