[Watch] Sensational Suryakumar Smashes 4 Sixes In A Row In 2nd ODI Vs Aussies

Indore: Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer set Team India on course for a massive total with a pair of classy centuries in the second ODI against Australia here on Sunday.

Skipper KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan maintained the momentum with quickfire knocks, but it was Suryakumar Yadav, or SKY as he’s fondly called, who lit up the jam-packed Holkar Stadium with four sixes in a row.

The bowler to suffer was Australian allrounder Cameron Green, who went on to leak 103 runs in his 10-over spell.

It was in the 44th over of the Indian innings – Green’s 8th – that SKY went berserk.

The first ball was swung over the long-leg boundary, the second was scooped over fine-leg, the third dispatched over the cover boundary and ball No. 4 was whipped over deep-midwicket boundary.

Expectations of six sixes in an over rose, but that was not to be.

Watch the 4 successive sixes hit by Surya in the video clip shared on X by BCCI:

Surya remained unbeaten on 72 off 37 balls, with 6 sixes and 6 fours as India posted 399/5 – their best score against Australia in ODIs.

Australia got off to a horrid start, losing Matthew Short and stand-in skipper Steve Smith to successive balls in the second over, which was Prasidh Krishna’s first.  At the end of 8 overs, the Aussies were 49/2.
