Sonepur: The second day of the Subarnapur City Festival and Lok Mahotsav had a special performance as district collector Aboli Sunil Naravane took to the stage and mesmerized the audience with a semi-classical Kathak recital.
The 2015-batch IAS officer of Odisha cadre performed to ‘O Ri Chiraiya’ song on the theme ‘Prevention of Child Marriage and sending girls back to school…’ during the festival, which is being held to celebrate the ongoing FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, Bhubaneswar-Rourkela, on Sunday.
While Naravane shared some glimpses from the festival on Twitter, videos of her performance are also doing the rounds on social media, winning her praises.
The Maharashtra state topper of UPSC CSE exam, Naravane has been promoting the hockey tournament in the district since it went underway on January 13. Sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik has created a replica of the Hockey World Cup trophy with rice husk, which is available in huge quantities in all households here with Sonepur being the rice procurement hub of Odisha.
