[Watch] ‘Stop, Stop,’ Air France Pilot Tells Colleague; Know Why

Paris: The Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for Civil Aviation Safety (BEA), responsible for aviation safety and air crash investigations in France, has launched a probe after the crew of an Air France Boeing 777 “partially lost control” while landing at Charles de Gaulle airport on Tuesday.

The BEA termed it as a “serious incident”, which means there was a serious risk of accident, AFP reported.

Flight AF011, which had arrived from New York, landed safely during the second attempt. The BEA said the flight was hit by “instability to the flight controls” on final approach, forcing the pilots to perform a “go around”.

“Stop, stop,” said one of the pilots to his colleague. “I’ll call you back,” he then told the control tower.

“We performed a go-around, there was a flight control problem, the plane was doing all sorts of things,” the pilot told the tower once things were under control.
