Mumbai: Team India, who have been scheduled to play their round-robin league games in the ODI World Cup at nine cities, are currently in the country’s financial capital.
Ahead of taking on Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, local boy Suryakumar Yadav – popular as SKY — decided to have some fun.
The explosive batsman turned cameraman and interviewer for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and went out to Marine Drive to interact with some cricket fans in the midst of ‘World Cup fever’.
To ensure that he wasn’t recognised on the streets of Mumbai, Surya wore a full shirt to hide his tattoos, and put on a mask and a hat.
He started by asking fans what’s famous about the place, before going into the game and whether they would support Indian cricketers.
Some spoke about their favourite cricketers Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.
When he asked fans about Suryakumar, there were some interesting answers.
“Presenting Suryakumar Yadav in a never seen before avatar.. What’s our Mr 360 doing on the streets of Marine Drive.. Shoutout if you were on SURYA CAM last evening,” BCCI posted on X along with the video of SKY in his new role.

Surya, who got a chance to make the playing XI following the injury to Hardik Pandya, made just 2 versus New Zealand before scoring a fine 49 against England in Team India’s previous game.
Team India are on a high in their home World Cup, being the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far. Rohit’s men will be looking for their seventh win on the trot on the morrow.
