Bhubaneswar: Tension gripped BJB College in Odisha capital on Friday after an alleged molestation of a girl student on the campus.
According to sources, the victim, a BBA self-finance student, was walking with a classmate when some hostel inmates passed lewd comments on her. They molested the girl near the Chemistry Department around 1.30 pm and when the boy protested, he was attacked with bricks.
On being informed, relatives of the boy rushed to the spot and a fight broke out, the sources further said.
Students were seen engaged in fistfight, following which police were called in.
Three persons have been detained in connection with the incident and police deployed on the campus to prevent escalation.
The trio had slapped the security guard, who had tried to intervene, the sources added.
