Washington: Besides bilateral announcements, President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s candid moments reflecting their friendship caught attention as they had a meeting at the White House in Washington, DC, on Thursday (local time). The two leaders shared a hearty hug as they greeted each other at the West Wing lobby.
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a photo on X, saying, “Behind the scenes in the West Wing lobby – @POTUS Trump welcomes Prime Minister @NarendraModi of India to the @WhiteHouse.”
President Trump was seen pulling out a chair for PM Modi, showcasing his personal rapport with the Indian leader.
This meeting marks PM Modi’s first visit to the US since President Trump’s inauguration for his second term.
Trump gifted Prime Minister Narendra Modi a signed copy of “Our Journey Together,” featuring photos from Howdy Modi, Namaste Trump, during a customary interaction with reporters in the Oval Office of the White House on Thursday. During the joint presser on February 13, Donald Trump presented this memorable gift. The gift bore a note reading: “Mr Prime Minister you are great.”
The book is a compilation of photos, including one from Donald Trump’s 2020 historic trip to India when he visited the Taj Mahal.
