Rayagada: An elephant has reportedly unleashed terror in the border areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. A tusker was reported to have attacked a passenger bus at Artam village in Andhra Pradesh, close to Rayagada in Odisha.
A video of the elephant attack on the bus has gone viral in which the tusker is seen stopping the vehicle and breaking the glass. The animal was also seen trying to push the bus with all its might.
The private bus was on its way to Parvathipuram in Andhra Pradesh from Rayagada district of Odisha when the tusker suddenly appeared on the road and attacked the vehicle with full force.
The elephant broke the glass of the bus which was carrying around 30 passengers. The passengers had a narrow escape from death, as seen clearly in the video.
The elephant as seen in the video was in a fit of rage and continued to create ruckus for around 10 minutes. The animal was believed to have strayed into the area from the nearby Kennu forest in Andhra Pradesh. The tusker is stated to be part of a five-member herd.
The incident has triggered panic among the people in the villages of both the states in the area.
