New Delhi: Two enormous explosions shook Lebanon’s capital Beirut on Tuesday, killing hundreds of people. A mushroom-shaped orange fireball sent shockwaves in the city shaking buildings and shattering glass windows.
The blasts were heard 240 km away in an island of Cyprus.
It is not clear if it was a terrorist blast or not. It could be a sodium nitrite factory explosion, reports suggest.

The force of the blast apparently threw people back into the apartment recording this video.
Black smoke has engulfed the entire port area, AFP news reported.
Many tweeted that the experience was “Like an earthquake” with “blown out windows, scattered furniture” and “shaking buildings”.
The country’s economy is at its worst and the local currency has plummeted against the dollar in recent months.
