Dallas: Six persons were feared dead after two World War 2-era planes collided midair at a Second World War commemorative airshow in Dallas on Saturday. A video showing the horrific collision has gone viral on social media since.

The planes involved in the crash were a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and a Bell P-63 Kingcobra. They collided and disintegrated in seconds after Bell P-63 Kingcobra flew into B-17 bomber as they both tried to go left. Their debris was seen scattered on the ground at the scene of the accident. Around 45 rescue units were deployed to the scene, WION reported.

At least six people were on board and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that they did not know if anyone has survive the crash. However, no spectator on the ground suffered any injuries. The air show has also been cancelled.

The FAA’s agents will investigate the incident along with National Transportation Safety Board, which took control of the crash scene with local police and fire providing support, the report added.
