New Delhi: Uganda made history on Thursday as they qualified for next year’s T20 World Cup, to be hosted by the West Indies and the US.
The East African country booked its spot in a global cricket meet for the first time ever with a nine-wicket victory over Rwanda.
Soon after the winning run was scored, the Ugandan cricketers broke into a spirited celebration.
A video which has gone viral on social media shows the team members dancing as a group in a unique way and posing for pictures.
Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) posted the celebratory dance on X.
“Celebrations just got started! T20 World Cup-bound Uganda once again took the famous nursery school rhyme to the global audience,” UCA wrote.

Uganda joined Namibia as the second side to make the cut for next year’s main tournament from the Africa Qualifier.
Uganda ensured a top-two finish with their fifth win in six matches.
Uganda skittled out Rwanda for 65 in 18.5 overs before coasting to the small target in 8.1 overs losing just one wicket.
Favourites Zimbabwe, a Test nation, failed to secure a berth.
The T20 World Cup will be played from June 4 to 30, 2024. The top two sides from each group make it to the Super 8 stage, followed by the semi-finals and the final.
The 2024 T20 World Cup will feature as many as 20 teams – the most in any format of ICC World Cup.
